CONFERENCE ON IUU AND US SEAFOOD IMPORT MONITORING PROGRAM IN VIETNAM

In the morning of 11th October 2017, at Sheraton Saigon in Ho Chi Minh city, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and VASEP co-organized the conference on IUU and US seafood import monitoring Program (SIMP) with an aim to discussing issues relating to SIMP and program on combating IUU fishing of the U.S.

More than 100 participants from US NOAA, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Sac, Vice Chairwoman of VASEP, Chairman of VASEP Marine Product Committee (VMPC), Chair of VASEP’s IUU Steering Committee, General Director of HAI NAM Co.,Ltd, a representative of US Embasy in Vietnam, representatives from 50 marine product companies and media agencies.

The conference is a chance for Vietnam seafood enterprises to meet representatives of NOAA to update and discuss about SIMP, update requirements of the US to prevent IUU fishing.
